Here’s what happens when you pay for it
Oct 14, 2021Are you willing to invest in yourself?
I never used to be.
To clarify, I would read and listen attentively in company-provided training sessions, and I read plenty of books, but I didn’t believe in paying for it.
I would freely give my time to learn and grow but would balk at the idea of paying for self-education.
Then came the shift
After launching CRE Success, I decided I needed some support, so I (somewhat reluctantly) joined an online professional development program.
It was $1,500 USD; I was worried it was a scam, that it wasn’t the real deal.
Luckily, it wasn't.
I got the resources and support I needed at the time to help me make progress in the new world of entrepreneurship.
It proved to me that I was worth investing in - from the perspective of myself, and my future clients.
Maybe this is you, too...
Last month, I surveyed some of my network about Top Performer, the new eight-week program I launched in September.
I asked people who expressed some interest in the program: "What's the main reason you didn't join?".
The most commonly given answer: "I don't believe in paying for self-education".
Here's a new perspective
Episode 57 of CRE Success: The Podcast is about why self-education is the smartest investment decision you'll ever make.
It's one of the only investments where you're completely in control of the ROI.
By the way, this is not about hawking my products; it's about introducing the mindset shift that occurs when you start to believe you're worth investing in.
Because, wherever you stand right now, it's worth asking the bigger question: if you’re not willing to invest in something, then why do you think anyone else should be?
