What’s your level of leadership competency?

At CRE Success, we’ve developed a framework covering the four stages of leadership competency.

It starts with following others, when you have no authority and little influence. Many people stay at this stage throughout their careers.

For those who choose the leadership track, it culminates with being followed by others - when a leader has maximum influence without the use of any formal authority.

Between these two extremes is the difference between managing and leading – which is a journey in itself.

This chart shows how you can move through the stages of follows others, manages others, leads others and followed by others, depending on your use of authority and your degree of influence.
